Avista Senior Living has truly been a blessing for both Mom and our entire family. After being abruptly moved from Montana to Spokane due to a medical emergency we determined that staying in Spokane was best for Mom. Navigating this process from out of state was definitely challenging but the community team worked with us, the skilled nursing facility she was transferred from and anyone else who needed to be involved to make the transfer as easy as possible. No questions are too small or insignificant. Mom absolutely loves her new community at Avista – and that’s quite a shift in her thought process. Cannot recommend Avista Senior Living Spokane highly enough!! We will always be grateful for their care, kindness and support during a very challenging time for our family. The peace of mind we now have is priceless!

We thought it; we spoke it, “We’ll have plenty of time to think about elder care later. Besides, how hard could it be? There are lots of places out there!” And then it happened. In an instant, our loved one could no longer continue to live unassisted in his own home. We began by visiting assisted living facilities online and onsite, hoping to narrow the scope of our search. It was all so overwhelming, and then we found our way to Avista and things began to make sense. We were instantly impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. A bonus was that the units were all at ground level; no stairs to navigate! The staff provided us with much-needed information regarding prices, services provided, support services available, etc. Avista helped us to cover all the bases as our loved one got moved in and adapted to his new home. When asked how he was liking his new home. He said, “I feel safe, secure.” His rapport with staff and other residents assures us that we made the right choice with Avista. We used to spend a fair bit of time taking him to medical appointments, loading and unloading the wheelchair after picking him up. Now, Avista takes him to the appointment and if we want to, we can meet him there. Avista staff maintains excellent communication with us regarding appointments, needs and necessary changes.

Avista Senior Living has been a huge blessing for my mom in particular but also for the whole family. The staff has bent over backwards to be accommodating for all of our needs. And some of those needs have been significant.They are good about contacting us with issues that crop up. It feels good to walk down the halls and be recognized and greeted by the staff. And that goes for management as well as caregivers. It’s just the right size where there are plenty of activities to participate in, and yet not so big that you get lost. Everybody knows everybody. And the staff is always vigilant, helping the residents back-and-forth from meals or activities. They try real hard to keep that social stimulation going. All in all, there’s never been any doubt in any of our minds that we made the right choice with Avista Senior Living.

All five stars. I would tell others that this was the only facility that we even looked at. It was clean and the staff were compassionate. Since moving in they have continued to be very friendly and efficient. I would absolutely recommend Avista Senior Living Spokane to other families looking.

We love Avista Spokane. It has been overall a great experience for my mom…Mom feels safe there, likes that it doesn’t smell, enjoys the food (which is rare for an institution), has fun with the employees, gets involved with the activities, and feels like she can be herself. Honestly, never thought she would do well in an assisted living home, because she’s so independent.

Great assisted living facility. The staff cares about the residents and goes out of their way to make sure they are comfortable. They also offer great food to keep the residents going strong. If you have a loved one looking for a place to go, I highly recommend giving them a call and/or visit.

To the director, head nurse, and all staff here, I have been a caregiver, off and on, for more than 20 years. I have worked privately and overseen the care of clients who have entered facilities. In the lockdown year, I hired on at a sister facility of yours just to be near one of my clients, as she had been as dear as a mother to me. First hand, I know that the care filters down best from top to bottom. A singular caregiver can struggle along, but when a facility is run with this kind of excellence, it shows on the faces of all the residents. The change in our family member since coming under your care is almost unbelievable. She transferred in under a ‘few weeks’ Hospice diagnosis, and needless to say, the time frame is now happily extended, all because of the unprecedented, cheerful, care. When the front desk girl will pause in her duties to assist a resident until a caregiver is free to step in, something is definitely going right!

They’re great. I like it because it’s a small community, and my mom gets a lot of one-on-one care. It’s easy for her to remember where things are. I think it’s a good place for somebody who needs that sort of care. Everybody there is fantastic The staff are very helpful. The care they provide is awesome…She’s participating in the activities, which is huge for her. She’s receiving 24-hour care, meals, and a watchful eye, so it’s a good bang for my buck.

I think that most of the staff really cared for the residents and it showed. I really liked the way the community was self contained, its lay out, and the security of building…At the end, when she wasn’t eating a lot, they went out of the way to made homemade milkshakes for her. I thought it was a really nice size, not too big. I got the impression that the caregivers saw her as an individual person not “just another resident”. It was the right place for her to be at that time in her life.

From the moment we entered the facility, we knew this was a place for our mom. The staff were friendly and the room was “homey”, though small, but just right for her. We appreciated that the nurse manager advocated for her to be there and worked with us to develop a care plan for her complex needs. Once a resident, the staff treated her like a friend. They not only cared for her but also sat and visited, understanding the physical limitations she had. Any concerns we had were addressed immediately. The activities available are interactive and meant for residents to meet each other. The activities director strives to get to know each resident personally and to get them involved. We also appreciated the small facility all on one floor. From maintenance staff to executive director, they could all provide answers or direct us to the appropriate place. Safety is also another priority, which was very much appreciated. We could not ask for a better place for our mom to have spent her final days and we know she appreciated the community.

The care staff here is very kind and Mom seems happy, content, and taken care of. So, all around, I’d say it’s going well. The food is good and there are tons of options to choose from. My Mom raves about it all the time, she really likes it. Everything I’ve seen is kept pretty clean and housekeeping comes by once or twice a week to clean the room. There’s a huge calendar filled with activities like scenic drives, exercise classes, family nights, bingo, and movie nights. There’s really a big variety for everyone to participate in. I would recommend them.

This is a nice community. The staff is excellent. My husband is very happy. I like knowing that he is taken care of when I am gone and he is very pleased. He is happy with the nice menu. They offer activities for the residents to participate. I would highly recommend this community to other families for good care.
