Setting the Standard: How Avista Yuma Became #1 in Response Time

At Avista, exceptional care isn’t just a goal, it’s something our teams work toward every single day. Recently, one of our communities, Avista Yuma, demonstrated exactly what’s possible when strong caregivers, smart technology, and a commitment to excellence come together.

Through our collaboration with Sage, our call light and documentation system provider, Avista Yuma has emerged as a leader across the entire Sage network.

Best Response Time Across All Sage Communities

Since implementing Sage in August, Avista Yuma has consistently outperformed peer communities. In December, they achieved the best response times across all Sage communities, and as of January 1, 2026, Yuma now ranks #1 among over 300 communities using the Sage platform. To date, over 15 Avista Senior Living communities have partnered with Sage.

Even more impressive: 100% of Avista Yuma staff are meeting the community’s response time standards, a rare achievement that no other community in the network can currently claim. This level of consistency speaks volumes about the team’s dedication, teamwork, and accountability.

A Partnership Built on Real-World Insight

Sage is more than a technology partner, they are deeply invested in understanding how their platform works in real caregiving environments. As the only platform built for the evolving complexities of senior care, Sage brings together real-time alerting, fall detection, caregiver workflow tools, and AI-driven insights. The result is faster response times, fewer missed details, and safer, more consistent care for residents.

Because of Avista Yuma’s standout performance, Sage offered to sponsor an all-expenses-paid trip to New York for a caregiver and their guest to attend a Sage conference. The goal was intentional: Sage wanted direct, on-the-floor feedback from someone actively using the system—not just leadership-level insight.

Spotlight on Eddie Albor

Caregiver and Med Tech Eddie Albor was nominated for this opportunity due to his incredible insight, passion for learning, and dedication to resident care. In addition to his daily caregiving role, Eddie also serves as a Memory Care Trainer for Avista’s Memory Care program, making him an ideal representative of both frontline experience and best practices.

With approval from leadership and impressive coordination by the Avista Yuma team, Eddie headed to New York to share his perspective.

Following the conference, the Sage team shared overwhelmingly positive feedback, raving about Eddie’s contributions and the value of hearing directly from a caregiver’s point of view. His insights helped reinforce what’s working well and offered meaningful input to help shape the future of the Sage platform.
