Service and sacrifice deserve to be honored, and those who gave so much for our country need their stories told. Avista Senior Living’s partnership with Dream Flights has made that a reality.
Dream Flights is a veterans’ charity dedicated to giving back to those who served in the U.S. military in a truly uplifting way: a free flight in a restored WWII-era biplane. This organization has flown with thousands of our nation’s heroes so far, and we are proud to say that some of those flights were at Avista Senior Living communities.
Our first partnered flights took off in 2024 at The Summit, and we’ve continued that tradition with more flights at our Draper, Holladay, Heber, Mapleton, and Lindon communities—with even more planned in 2025!
The results of the flight were instantaneous. Our residents immediately brightened and began sharing their own experiences in our armed forces, helping to keep important parts of history alive and bridging multi-generational gaps. The memories shared by all involved, from Dream Flights pilots to residents to Avista staff, were nothing short of awe-inspiring.
