Spring Gardens Senior Living and Heber, UT

Heber City was founded in the late 1850s by English immigrants in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, named after the apostle Heber C. Kimball. It serves as the county seat of Wasatch County.

Heber City enjoys one of the lowest unemployment rates in all of Utah, and visitism is a year-round industry in Heber Valley. Winter attracts cross-country and downhill skiers, as well as snowboarders and snowmobilers. In the summer and fall, people come for fishing, hunting, golfing, and offroading, among other activities.

Farming and ranching play large roles in the Heber economy, and the largest local employer is the Wasatch County School District. While many of the youth are employed at local golf courses, restaurants, specialty shops, and farms, the adult population mostly commutes to Salt Lake City, Provo, and Orem.

Heber Market on Main and Spring Gardens Senior Living

A great part of the Heber scene to enjoy while living at Spring Gardens is the Heber Market on Main in the summer. For two decades now, the Heber City Farmer’s Market has been a weekly summertime event welcoming locals and visitors alike to downtown Heber for the shopping, local food, drink, and live music. It’s even wheelchair accessible!

Another great local spot to check out in Heber, whether as a resident at Spring Gardens Senior Living or as a visiting family member, is the Back 40 Ranch House Grill. Their kitchen is stocked with local ingredients from Heber and the surrounding valleys. The building was once a ranch house built in the fields over 80 years ago, and it was moved to its current location in the ‘40s.

Enjoy a hearty meal of White Cheddar Bacon Mac N Cheese, the Back 40 Burger, and Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler (or anything else on the delicious menu), then come back again for more!
