Why we partner with SafelyYou for our Memory Care residents
Those living with dementia fall an average of four times per year. Most can’t tell you how they fell, which makes it hard to know what happened—and even harder to keep it from happening again. But SafelyYou real-time, AI-enabled cameras record only the events surrounding an on-the-ground event, so staff can see how a fall happened and determine its severity, preventing unnecessary ER visits, reducing costs, and helping to keep repeat falls from occurring. And SafelyYou clinical experts partner with on-site staff to help develop fall prevention strategies and create more person-centered care.

Benefits Of Assisted Living
Finding the right assisted living community takes time, and you need to be prepared to make a move in advance. The following benefits to assisted living can help you and your family members look forward to your next chapter in life.
1. Transportation services
At some point, owning a vehicle is just too much of a hassle. Our assisted living community offers reliable transportation to local shopping, events, and doctor appointments. Trusted transport gets residents where they need to go precisely when they need to go, and on time.
2. Healthier, happier future
Moving into assisted living is a move into a lifestyle that promotes healthy senior living, and opens up many options for the future. Each resident has a custom care plan regularly evaluated by our medical team. If needs should change over time, we see it as it happens, resulting in early diagnosis and, inevitably, better treatment options for the future.
3. Peace of mind
The things we do and how we work together create the ultimate and most important benefit – peace of mind. Friends and family of residents can rest easy, knowing their loved one is well cared for in a home-like environment. Our residents themselves rest at ease knowing that they have the support they need available for them every day.
4. Prevents social isolation
Seniors living at home alone are at a higher risk for social isolation and increased feelings of loneliness and depression. At our community, our residents live in a dynamic community environment with friends and staff who encourage participation in events and socialization. It is an excellent opportunity for residents to make new friends, get to know the staff, and feel connected to a larger community of people in the same chapter of life.
5. 24/7 compassionate care
Residents in our community receive personalized care to ensure that all their needs are being met. Our staff members are well-trained to provide the attention and care that our residents need with compassion.
6. A focus on independence and fun
While our community is a great place to receive care, we place a big emphasis on independence and fun. We know that fun is an essential part of aging gracefully, and our community has a variety of fun activities.
7. Free time
It’s due time to put aside the housework, yard work, and home maintenance. There is no more shoveling the snow, mowing the lawn, or repairing the house. Enjoy hassle-free senior care where you don’t have to worry about the cleaning or the cooking anymore. It’s our pleasure to do the work for each of our residents, allowing them to find a hobby or invest more time into a lifelong interest.
8. Delicious dining
Healthy residents are happy residents, and the meals served at our community are specifically created to benefit senior health. Cooking for yourself can be challenging, especially if you are alone. With nutritious meals prepared by our chefs, residents in our community enjoy delicious meals packed with nutrients. Our elegant dining room encourages mealtimes with friends, making each meal more than "just a meal", but a social event.

The only thing more beautiful than the arrangement they sent was the loving care we received the last nine months. The staff made a hard walk easier…and new friends along the way. What a blessing! It takes special people to do what they do. Physically and emotionally taxing, they work well together making Avista a pleasant, cheerful place – no matter what! Yes, respect and compassion reign 24/7…always with an eye on offering dignity. We appreciate the life line they gave us. Thank you so much.

The caregivers at Avista Senior Living Albuquerque are the best. I trust them completely with my husband who has Primary Progressive Dementia. When he first went there, he was like a walking zombie. After just a couple months, he came back to life. They have so many activities for the residents to participate in everyday. When there is any concerns, like health, injuries or behavior issues, they let me know right away. The meals are prepared in a regular kitchen, not frozen, prepackaged or microwave ready. The staff takes the residents on various outings. Celebrate birthdays every month. My husband loves to be outdoors and they have a beautiful, safe and secure courtyard he gets to enjoy. The building is clean inside and out, no awful odors. Ron can be pretty stubborn at times, and they are able to keep him under control at those times and redirect his attention when needed. Watching the staff, caregivers interacting with the residents gives me confidence in knowing I made the best decision in choosing Avista for my husband’s care.

Our family member spent the last eight months of his life at Avista, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place. The staff was incredibly compassionate, attentive, and communicative about his needs. The doctors and nursing staff were responsive and truly cared for him as an individual, not just a patient. The facility itself is clean, bright, and welcoming, with plenty of windows, a beautiful garden, and a variety of activities to keep residents engaged. Most importantly, the level of care and compassion shown to both our loved one and our family was exceptional. Before Avista, he was at the Watermark, and that experience was terrible—don’t be fooled by the fancy appearance. Avista, on the other hand, is a genuinely caring place, especially for dementia patients. We are deeply grateful for everything they did for our family member, and we highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality dementia care

I had a tour of Avista memory care today and it was a wonderful surprise. The executive director herself made time to show me around the community which made me feel like my questions are important. As I toured it felt very much like a home. The furnishings looked comfortable and inviting, it smelled good (no foul odours) and the residents were well dressed, groomed and clean. My tour was during lunchtime and I observe the caregivers serving the meal and engaging with the residents. I had the pleasure of meeting their maintenance director and when I asked him about his favourite resident his response was that “they all are”but then he went on to talk about a gentleman who is very special to him. The maintenance director definitely cares. As I walked through the staff made eye contact smiled and some made it a point to say hello. It was such a good experience. Thank you for the welcoming experience!

Although my husband’s mother lived at Avista only a short time, we would highly recommend the staff and this facility. We were first given a tour of the facility (through Zoom) and Olivia (marketing) was thorough in addressing our initial concerns. This was important because we live out-of-state, so we couldn’t visit the facility first. Olivia was always available to address our concerns and help us through the intake process. When Mom arrived, she quickly acclimated into the facility and seemed to enjoy the activities. We were given 24/7 access to the nursing staff so we could check on how things were going. Later, when we did visit the facility, we found everyone to be warm and welcoming, ready to answer questions. Sadly, within 10 days, Mom was entered into hospice care, which was administered at Avista. The hospice nurse also commented that Mom was being treated well, being turned frequently to prevent pressure sores, and kept clean, etc. until her passing. Our time with Avista only encompassed a three-week period, but during this time, we felt that Mom received compassionate care and that she would have had a happy home at Avista had circumstances turned out differently.

The care and compassion you provided to our dear friends was beautiful and very special. All of the staff members seem to care deeply for the residents and wanted to provide the most appropriate care possible for their individual needs.Your community seems to be designed much like a home. People may choose to interact with others or be able to find places where they may be alone when they need it. We always felt welcome as guests.

A dear friend lived at Avista Senior Living for eight months before she passed away. The staff was very attentive, respectful, gentle, caring and accommodating. We got to know several residents over eight months time and they all appeared to be happy. The community was neat and well maintained. There is a large, pleasant common area with couches, tables and a large screen television. Management schedules activities to help pass the time for residents. There is a very attractive, secure grassy outdoor patio with benches, a picnic table and covered Gazebo where residents and guests can go without restrictions. I highly recommend this community.
